Meet-up at Más Mexican Restaurant

This past year we have been excited about the incredible amount of Spanish students at Sombrero Time are producing.  Kids are comfortable using what they have learned in the safe environment of the class room which is great!  A powerful experience that reinforces second language development exists outside the classroom in the community.  This is why we have decided to create a series of “Meet-ups” in the local Roseville/Granite Bay community.  A meet-up is a social mixer designed to bring people of similar interests together.  Our interest, obviously, is to give kids more opportunity to practice the Spanish skills they have.  Less obvious is our desire to build a Spanish speaking community and support our local schools.  All of which can be achieved at over time through the Meet-Up.  Our first Meet-up is next month.

  • Where-On the outdoor patio at Más Mexican Restaurant
  • When-Monday, May 2, 2011.  5-7pm
  • What-Social Mixer with Great Mexican Food-Need I say more…!
  • Space will be limited so come early

Once you arrive you can interact with Sombrero Time maestras and the wait staff at Más- in Spanish only of course.  They are expecting us to be practicing our Spanish and will help coach you if you stumble.  The menu will be in Spanish only as well.  So, don’t be afraid, risk a little!  Latin people love it when us “Gringos” engage in their native tongue and are very gracious in the process.  Come and have fun with it, meet other families and enjoy the food.  10% of all proceeds from the event will go toward supporting local schools in the community.

Seating is limited for the Meet-up so you must RSVP.  Simply go to EventBrite and reserve your FREE tickets!
